HMS reaches far beyond the insurance industry when it comes to supporting our community. We feel it is our responsibility as a leader to give something back. It is very rewarding for us as a company to contribute and actively support so many charitable organizations.
Many of our employees are involved along with HMS in supporting a number of charities including the Jessica Meredith Jacobsen Memorial & House of Ruth, Maryland Special Olympics and
Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Festival of Trees. The Education Foundation of BCPS (Baltimore County Public Schools) has a special place in our hearts since many of our executives and staff were brought up through the county’s public school system. The annual “Tools for School” has become a favorite among our employees in collecting school supplies, helping to give all children have the same opportunity to be equipped for learning.
Each holiday season, HMS partners with the Maryland CPCU Society Chapter collecting toys for children in local hospitals, schools, and other non-profit organizations. This joyful act of kindness brings smiles to the faces of children when its needed most.
And as is the case with many companies, HMS bears the painful scars from losing friends and co-workers to cancer.
This makes supporting the American Cancer Society, Sidney Kimmel Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society very special also.
Whether it is through monetary donations, sitting on a board or directors, or direct involvement in fundraising, HMS is proud of the collective measures its executives and staff take to give something back to our community.
